GreenPalm

The GreenPalm certificate trading programme enables palm oil producers who meet the RSPO’s strict new sustainability standards, to earn more for their crop. Enjoying exclusive endorsement from the RSPO, it is the only approved alternative to the traceable segregation and mass balance supply chain options.

By using existing supply chains, the GreenPalm programme avoids the need for costly segregation and therefore has no incremental environmental impact. Certified plantations can convert their production into GreenPalm certificates and offer them for sale on GreenPalm web based platform. End product manufactures can purchase the certificates and make claims of supporting the production of RSPO certified palm oil.

For every GreenPalm certificate traded, a $1 donation is made to the RSPO to ensure additional funding of their global campaign for the production of sustainable palm oil.

The book and claim concept was first proposed in 2003 and GreenPalm is now the commercial realization of that concept. Trading in GreenPalm certificates commenced two weeks following the plantation to be awarded RSPO certification.

GreenPalm Ltd is a subsidiary of AarhusKarlshamn UK Ltd.
